    Benson Sculpture Park

    Benson Sculpture Park has provided an outdoor forum fro showcasing sculptures since 1985. Currently, 100 sculptures are on display. Park amenities include a non-reservable gazebo, drinking fountains, a walking path lined with benches and non-fishing ponds.

    CSU Arboretum/Woody Plant Research Area

    At the CSU Arboretum/Woody Plant Research Area, students determine which plants grow best in the Rocky Mountains and other forested areas. More than 1,100 different types of growth are found in the area, many marked with display signs telling what they are.

    Golden Ponds Park and Nature Area

    Originally opening in 1990, the Golden Ponds Park and Nature Area was donated by Vermon Golden with the intent of providing an area for Longmont residents to fish, walk and interact with nature. The 94-acre park features four ponds, 2.6 miles of paved trails, a handicapped-accessible fishing pier, public restroom facilities and nine picnic shelters. The shelters are available for reservation during the summer months.

    Edora Park

    Edora Park spans 65-acres and offers an indoor swimming and ice-skating complex. Other park amenities include picnic shelters, playground, trail access, basketball courts, fishing, tennis courts, BMX track, skate park and fitness course. Sledding and cross-country skiing are available in the winter.

    Jim Hamm Nature Area
    Developed in 1976, this 24-acre nature area was donated by the Hamm family in memory of USAF Captain Jim Hamm, who died in the Vietnam War. The Nature Area consists of 14 acres of water and 10 acres of surrounding land. Features include public restrooms, a sheltered picnic pavilion, a pond-side shelter a sensory garden and interpretive signs throughout the area.

    Garden Acres Park
    Features of the Golden Acres Park include soccer fields, lighted baseball fields, a playground and a batting cage. The Oligarchy Dich runs through the park which provides numerous opportunities to view area wildlife. A life-size bronze sculpture of three children at play, designed by local artist Jerry Boyle is located at the south entrance of the park.

    North Lake Park

    Amenities of North Lake Park include two playground areas, lake fishing, baseball fields as well as horseshoe, tennis and basketball courts. Each of the four available on-site picnic shelters feature two small grills and six electrical outlets. The Norma and Lynn Hammond Amphitheater and Miniature Train are also available.

    Golden Gate Canyon State Park

    Located northeast of Golden, the Golden Gate Canyon State Park boasts 12,000 acres of natural area. Activities supported by this park include picnicking, camping, hiking, biking, animal watching and much more. The miles of trails welcomes horseback riders, as well as hikers and mountain bikers, while the canyon offers an array of fishing areas.

    Union Reservoir and Park
    The Union Reservoir and Park are available for public use from March 1 to October 31. Recreational activities such as fishing, wakeless boating, windsurfing, sailing and kayaking are available on reservoir. The east side of the reservoir is designated at a dog beach, where dogs are permitted off-leash. Public restrooms facilities are also available.

    Clark Park
    This 48.5 acre park was donated to the city of Longmont by Helen Noble Clark in 1971. Features include four baseball fields, the Centennial Swimming Pool, a sheltered picnic area with barbecue pits, a hockey rink and a handicapped accessible park. Tennis, volleyball and tennis courts are also available.

    Lory State Park

    Due west of Fort Collins, Lory State Park offers a wealth of outdoor activities to visitors. Situated beside the Horsetooth Reservoir, spend time fishing, boating, water skiing and doing various other activities. A number of trails wind through the park, which are frequented by hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers in the summer cross-country skiing in the winter.

    Named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, this park was donated to the city in 1982 by J.M. Mumford. Amenities include public restrooms, sheltered picnic pavilions, a playground and a horseshoe court. A bronze giraffe sculpture is also located within the park, designed by Manilda G. Raffee.

    Izaak Walton Park
    Donated to the city of Longmont in 1989 by the V.V. Golden Foundation, the park features a pond that is dedicated to youth fishing. Fishing equipment is available from 6am-11pm daily.
