Big Blue Stem / South Boulder Creek Loop The Big Blue Stem/South Boulder Creek Loop is 7.1 miles in length and boasts easy conditions for bikers or hikers. Estimated at four hours to complete, this trail reaches elevations of 5,490 – 6,200 feet. Grassy meadows, Ponderosa Pine forests and Flatirons are features of this trail. At 2.3 miles, the choice is available to take a short loop back to the trailhead or continue on for an additional 3 miles. Access: This trail is accessible from the South Boulder Creek Trailhead off of Highway 93 or from the South Mesa Trailhead located off of Eldorado Springs Drive. |

The Colorado Trail Take the backcountry route through Colorado's mountains and forests while touring the Colorado Trail. Extending from Denver to Durango, the trail is separated into 28 sections to make it more manageable. The best time of year to attempt the trail is from mid-June until early September, because after that the weather is too unpredictable. Access: Running from Denver to Durango, the Colorado Trail has access points in the National Parks and Forests that cross its path, as well as in many of the communities. |

Betasso Preserve This 773 acre preserve features moderately difficult mountain bike or hiking trails at 6,480 feet. The Betasso Preserve features winding descents, double and single tracks, Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine forests as well as various creeks and hillside loops. All paths are estimated to take approximately one hour to complete. Picnic areas and public restrooms are also available. Access: The Betasso Preserve is located six miles west of Boulder, approximately one mile north of Sugarloaf Road. |

Boulder Creek Path Stretching seven miles from east Boulder to the western edge of the city where Boulder Canyon and Fourmile Canyon intersect, the Boulder Creek path is 7 miles in length each way and offers easy conditions for bikers, joggers or in-line skaters. Approximately one hour is needed to complete the trail which parallels Boulder creek. Benches and picnic tables are also scattered along the trail for public use. Access: The Boulder Creek Path is accessible throughout downtown Boulder. |
